Topic: Fall tips for your native plant garden
As we start to transition into fall, it's a great time to start thinking about things like what you can do in your native garden to continue to protect wildlife over the winter, whether you want to tuck in a few more native plants before winter, and more!
Speaker: Allison Welch: Allison is WOGC Board member and has worked in horticulture at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Kendal at Oberlin and is an active member of the Lakewood Tree Advisory and Education Board. Allison is also pursuing a degree in Sustainable Agriculture at LCCC.
Topic: Nature in My Backyard. Nature in My Backyard is a certification program administered by Ohio Native Plants with support from the Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland and the Shaker Lakes Garden Club, together with the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cuyahoga County. It is designed to help homeowners understand the most essential steps for building biodiversity in your backyard. Our speaker will share an overview of the program and solutions to some of the common topics that come up in discussion with homeowners.
