Join WOGC Board Member, Community Science Chair and Lorain County Regional Coordinator Ray Stewart for a workshop that will walk you through the 'how' and the 'why' of seed preparation. Winter Sowing uses a technique that turns an ordinary gallon milk or water jug into a greenhouse. This technique provides the appropriate conditions for Ohio native perennial seeds to sprout when spring comes around. Native Ohio plants are needed to support our local pollinators like butterflies and bees and to provide critical resources for birds and other wildlife.

Attendees will need to bring along a clean jug. The library may be able to provide a limited number of clean jugs, but we cannot guarantee how many will be available. All other supplies including potting soil, native seeds, and basic tools will be provided.

This program is intended for adults and is suitable for children ages 12+. Minors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. Register below or call the library at 440-988-4230.
